2024 Toyota Tacoma
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is a completely redesigned midsize pickup truck that offers a fresh look, improved performance, and many new features. This latest iteration of the popular Tacoma boasts a more muscular exterior design, a modern and upscale interior, and a range of powerful engine options, including a new turbocharged four-cylinder and an available hybrid powertrain.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is available in various trim levels, each with unique exterior features. The base SR trim has 17-inch steel wheels and a leaf spring rear suspension, while the SR5 adds LED fog lights and a coil spring multilink rear suspension on crew cab models. The TRD PreRunner features an independent double-wishbone front suspension, all-terrain tires, and a locking rear differential, while the TRD Sport boasts a front and rear stabilizer and 18-inch wheels.
For off-road enthusiasts, the TRD Off-Road trim offers Bilstein shocks, skid plates, and a multiterrain select system. The Limited trim adds luxury features and unique styling cues, and the TRD Pro takes things to the next level with FOX shocks, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and distinctive styling elements. Finally, the Trailhunter trim has Old Man Emu shocks, a high-output air compressor, and bronze accents.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood, the 2024 Tacoma features a new turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder i-FORCE engine. This engine is available at two output levels, both pairing with an eight-speed automatic transmission (with a six-speed manual available on select models). The base SR trim produces 228 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, while all other trims generate an impressive 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. For even more power, an available hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain delivers a robust 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The 2024 Tacoma's new TNGA-F body-on-frame platform and updated suspension tuning enhance its performance significantly. Most trims now feature a multilink coil spring rear suspension, which improves ride comfort and handling. The re-tuned dampers across the lineup offer better overall performance. Off-road-focused trims, such as the TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro, come with Bilstein shocks, locking rear differentials, and advanced terrain management systems to tackle even the most demanding trails. The range-topping TRD Pro takes things further with FOX shocks and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
Interior
Inside, Toyota has given the 2024 Tacoma a substantial update with a more modern, upscale design. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes standard, with a 14-inch display available on higher trims. The redesigned seats offer improved comfort and adjustability, while crew cab models have increased legroom for rear passengers. The cabin has more storage spaces and cubbies to keep your belongings organized and within reach.
Safety Features
Safety is a top priority in the 2024 Tacoma, which comes standard with the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. This comprehensive package includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Safety options include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera system for improved visibility.
